Thanks to tangents help I finally got my PIMETA going good

And I like seeing the pics of other peoples stuff so I thought I'd post pics of my first headphone amp:

The LED is a UV one and it looks dark purple but it didn't show in the pic

Did you machine the clear panels yourself or?
Same for the polish on the extrusion?
One comment though-----> I bet it sucks turning it on and off with the DC plug in the way.

the clear panels should be either lexan or plexiglass.
their just plastics, computer freaks use it a lot to "mod" their computers.

its easy to work with.. weapon of choice is normally dremel and drill.
anyway, methinks your pimeta is sweet, the insides are very clean, explains the clear casing to show off the good work. cheers

wow great eyes =P i bet hes having problems locating BUF634P's thats why he doesnt have any yet.

There are pads for SMD buffers on the underside. They're probably there.

As Megaptera said, I am using the surface mount ones, they are on the underside. I can get the buffers locally but I got them from tangent as they are cheaper.

Yeah I made the panels myself, used a drill press and a hacksaw for the front panel and I had to use a mill to make the top panel edges so it slides in like the original hammond top and sits flush on top

I didn't polish the case, I used solar film, you cant really see it in the pics but its like chrome, very shinny

Sweet, MaxW! That's pretty close to what I'm planning as my first headamp too. What kind are your four power reserve caps? They're not the Panasonic FC's. Nichicon's?

They are Elna Starget, 470uF, 35V ones. I got them from RS
