so, i bought these phones from cantsleep here on the forums. i was worried a bit, just because i hadnt done many deals around here. i mean..how was i supposed to know for sure they were 225's in MS2 shells, you know? also, the cable was supposedly cardas, but had been stripped down to the wires. anyway, i wanted the cable recovered. had them sent to [AK]Zip or Alex for those who know em by name. and he did some nice looking work. also, checked the dB with a multimeter to confirm that they were indeed 225's. (not sure exactly how that works..something to do with the driver matched db's to .05. i don't really know about all that jazz. regardless, here's what they look like.

Real slick looking! The MS2i shell is one of the best looking Grados, if you ask me!

That isn't a MS2i, its just a MS2 shell.

Very nice. I have always liked the MS-2i(?) chambers. How do they sound? How do they compare with other headphones you've had?

What's the difference? I didn't know there was a visual difference.

Are those just MS2? I guess the band of silver (that slopes down) is a little thinner than the MS2i... it'd be easier to tell with a side shot.

the cans in the first shot have the external metal cups of the old school MS-2, not the new school MS-2i. apparently they have SR225 drivers in there, and are recabled with cardas, terminating in a mini plug - i wouldn't hestitate taking these out portably. i like the mini to 1/4 adapter, clean work.

yeah, apparently larry at headphile did the 225 drivers into ms2 shell mod. i'll give my impressions as soon as they arrive.
