My new A500

i bought these for my PC to replace my k81djs, one thing i noticed is that these sound really hollow and not very engaging. sound stage is much better than my 81s and i played a few games (oblivion to be exact) and the effect was much better, if i stand still and spin my character around voices from a near by convo actually spins around my head as well.


but for music they aint as good imo, they feel slow and unmotivated, doesnt really bring you into the tunes if you know what i mean.



edit: i also have a brand new pair of A900 next to me, i wonder if i should open them? would they be better for my pc than the a500? if the difference is small then im not gona open it and might sell/give it away

I dont know whether you're talking about the A500s here or its just early in the morning here and i cannot comprehend the simplest of things.

I found that the A700 blossom at high volume-I dont like that fact but the music's just too good when I do crank up the volume. Im guessing the a500s a step down and I would hate that.

well, what you need to do is pack those A500s away and open the A900s. I dont get the point of buying 2 AX00s series phones and plus you got the 900s too. Sell the A500s and get something else.

The A500 is a good can for gaming and movies. It wouldn't be my first choice for music. Buts its a good compromise for someone looking at an all around solid can under $100 which they will mostly use for gaming. The A900 should be significantly better for music. You may also want to burn in the can for several hours.

i got them free off a friend of mine who is a huge headphone retailer, maybe i should give the a500s back and exchange for something else
