This is all I have so far - just based on the Grado interview, I wanted to get the Cream of the crop of tunes to show off the Grados. If John used these kinds of tunes to "voice" the Grados, I'm cool with that!

Little Wing2:23Jimi Hendrix
Steppin' Out2:29John Mayall
The Rootwitch2:30Michael Hedges
Gone Daddy Gone3:06Violent Femmes
They Can't Take That Away From Me3:11Ella Fitzgerald
Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye3:31Ella Fitzgerald
All Your Love3:35John Mayall
Acoustic Fun (K)3:41Peppino d'Agostino
Before You Accuse Me3:45Eric Clapton
Love For Sale5:54Ella Fitzgerald

Jahn,

Its funny that you mention this. After reading the interview with John Grado, I found the brief list of reference recordings quite interesting and today purchased Eric Claption's 1992 release;"Unplugged Live". It is quite good with the Grado Labs headphones and I would be interested to hear of other albums that John Grado uses for reference. Until then Im very happy with Violin and Cello concertos from my Grado Labs headphones.

Best,

Hehe I did the same thing! I had that one track from my Unplugged various artists CD, but now I'm getting the full blown Clapton unplugged for under a buck used from Amazon, can't beat that deal!

BTW I highly recommend "Ella Fitzgerald sings the Cole Porter Songbook" - it's very nicely remastered and sounds great.

If I may, I'd like to recommend albums such as The Police - Reggata De Blanc, or any Dire Straits albums. They sound really great with Grados

When I read the John Grado interview I had a big dumb smile on my face. When I show people my MS-2i (I realize they are not exactly voiced by John) I have always used “Before You Accuse Me” by Eric Clapton from his unplugged album. I like to point out to people how “realistic” the crowds clapping is. I did not see in the interview where he stated what song he used, only that it was off the unplugged album? Anyway when I first got my MS-2i (I did not like the MS-2i at first) Eric Clapton’s Unplugged album was one of the few albums that gave me that wow these do sound good feeling. On a whole I have always thought the album sounded great on the MS-2is.

To make a long story short.....Me reading the interview = BIG DUMB SMILE

Nice.... very nice....

IMHO the Eagles Millenium concert sounds incredible on my MS2. Don Henley's voice is made for these cans.
SRVs rendition of Hendrix's "Little Wing" is spine chilling.

For sure I'll be bringing some Eagles, SRV, Clapton unplugged, Pink Floyd and Ella Fitzgerald to the San Jose meet.
