Hi guys. Wondering if anyone has any ideas. I have a one year old 5th gen 60G Video Ipod. When I use it, after about 15 minutes it shuts down. Actually it loks like it is rebooting because the Apple comes up after a few seconds. The battery has a full charge and it even does it when it's plugged in. Same thing whether I am using the line out or earphones. The software has been newly updated. I think I know the answer is going to be that it needs repair but just wanted to check with the experts

Thanks,

Try restoring it - you will lose all your songs though, so make sure that you have a backup somewhere. That should fix most problems.

Jeff,
If its 1.2, you NEED to restore your ipod with the disc that came with it. There have been many, many reported problems with "upgrading" a 5th Gen ipod with 1.2 . I upgraded mine, and while I did not get the spontaneous reboots, mine did get the scrambled screen with frquent lock-ups requiring a reset.

Do yourself a favor, don't take my word for it. Google it and check ilounge...you'll see what I mean.

Once again, the geniuses on this site have prevailed. I reloaded the previous software version onto my iPod, reinstalled my songs and it's as good as new. YOU GUYS ROCK!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Happy Holidays,
Jeff
