I just received the phones and very satisfied with the them. The sound is as amazing as everybody appraise about it. Er4p is revealing but that's not so bad for low compressed mp3 (mine are 128kbs) , I just feel these 128kbs mp3s sound lack of detail but no distortion as I afraid of. Of course there are distortion in some other bad files that I think I compressed them with a bad encoder. My point is, 128kbs mp3s are not bad if they were encoded with a good encoder.
Besides the sound, I feel it was not comfortable at the first times, I tried the foams but the plastic tubes in them hurt my ear if inserting too deep. I'd prefer the plastic eartips and see no difference b/w those plastic and foams. However, moistening the plastic tips before inserting is not only make a good seal but also offer you a smooth and deep insert (I found it painful when inserting those dry).
Another concern, do you think the thin plastic tube where we put the filter or attach the eartips is dedicated? Im not sure someday they will break due to hard inserting.
By the way, these phones are not used for sleeping! dont lie by your side if you dont want to hurt both your ears and those $ phones...

I am glad that you like them.

I think some people before have reported that the plastic tips have broken. Most people don't seem to have a problem.

Yes, it is true that some mp3 encoders are worse than others. There is no strict standard saying that mp3's have to be precisely encoded this way or that way. Most people use LAME.

Actually I was impressed just how good my low bitrate mp3's sounded on my new ety's. With how detailed they are I was expecting the digital artifacts to be unbearable, but surprisingly they are almost nonexistent compared to my grados. Low bitrate files sound worse than ogg, aps lame or cd for sure, but I found that there was less of a difference between low and high bitrate files with the ety's compared to other playback equipment.

I would like to take this opportunity to say just how much I love my new phones, Beethoven never sounded so good outside of the concert hall.

The soundstage is excellent, listening to a record of Mauriat live concert makes me ... "immerse in the ocean of music" (as a editorial review stated). I mean, just listen to the live sound of the hand claps and applauses at the beginning of the song!
