my gum sticks ....... dead??

Since I got my 955, I tried all powr sources except the adapter. my gum sticks worked when I just got it, but didnt last long, I charged them once and once again they didnt last long. No bother..... battery case. I use the battery case and then i decide to charge the gum sticks and then see how longthey really last..............


They last ZERO seconds!!

They refuse to work and I read that people had problems with their Sony Discmen (EJ1000 and similar models). I guess I am the latest victim. t still works but only with the adapter and the wretched battery pack.


Did anyone ever solve this problem??

I say it again............ I HATE SONY!!!!!!!!! I dont think I will be buying Sony again. Two out of Two Sony,Two out of Two!!!

How long have you had the batteries? It could also be the charger, i had one charger that refused to work. I still have gumsticks and used them since 1997-1998, they still get a healthy charge.

Lick the ends of the batteries, stick them in, and charge them. Or, if you have a friend with working batteries, stick one dead batt and one good batt in the player, and they should recharge.

Sony always had problems with the charging mechanism built into the newer Discmans... try an external charger that you can borrow from a friend or something... I seriously doubt the gumsticks are dead...

They generally come with Sony MD and Tape Walkmans... The Japanese Domestic Model ones come with the better chargers, but I know Sony do sell them seperately... Try looking up NH-14WM charger on google...

I open the player pop the batteries out, wipe the contacts off and then put them back in........................


They work!!!! I am happsy that thy work but I would still like to know why what happened hapened in the first place.

The contacts werent discoloured in anyway by any build up or oxidation.


I dont understand but they work and I am happy. still hate sony though
