Hi Guys,

Ive been reading these forums for a while, and I am quite into my audio.

I recently got a pair of Shure E2C's to use with my 5.5g 80gb ipod.

But from seeing everyones rigs you all have amps and stuff like that.

I'd like to improve the sound I am getting, but I am on a budget.

What would you guys suggest?

I don't want to exceed more than about $120 (US Dollars).

Thx

Don't go buying a portable headphone amp and think you are going to magically transform the Shure E2C's into something wonderful.

A headphone amp will do very little to improve the SQ on those earphones.

Only get a amp if you are going to upgrade your cans/earphones from what you have now.

go buy some higher impedance headphones first, you wont get anything out of something that was meant to be powered by a portable.

2nd, theyll definitely have a subtle hissing coming out of a microshar.

so i wnt be upgrading in a while!

You got that right. not much love for E2C here, not that I can recall of. But E4 C/G has huge fanbase and if you are going to get yourself an amp, E4 will shine without a doubt

the only reason that you need an amp is to drive high impedance cans such as beyer 880 / hd600 typically have 250 ohm impedance. The shures have very low impedance @ 8 ohm, so they could be driven by the ipod easily.
