The final pieces arrived yesterday.

All set up, hooked up and I am very happy.

Thanks to the wonderful information on this site I was able to make quality decisions about what equipment would be right for me.

ATH-W5000's, AT-HA5000, Cambridge Audio Azur 740C...with various ZU cables and power cords.

When I grow up I might go Stax SR-007 OMEGA II and tube amps. For now I am extremely satisfied with my initial experience.

I think you are missing out on the most fun part of the hobby. Dropping that kind of cash is cool.. and you'll get an amazing set up, but its more fun to upgrade from one thing to another, move up in the chain. You are starting almost on top of it, and not too much room to play around with. But enjoy it!

I know I missed out on the experience of hearing improvement in my sytem with each upgrade, but why would I want to be disappointed several times before ending up with something I love. I love what I have and only had to research, buy and wait this one time. It was a process of over a year for me. Though the bulk of research and purchase decisions really took place within the last six weeks. Check out my post in this thread http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=191649 on page 6...hard to believe really, but it's my life.

The good news is that it's all paid for, no debt.

Good for you! That's a smart approach, because buying and selling is/can be a painful experience. But, if you know what you want, then go for it (skip the rest)! Key word is your happy. Don't look back, and don't pay much attention to some that may second guess your decision to go for the the gusto; at the end of the day, it's your rig...get in and get out, enjoy your new high-end system!

Peace

I used to have money...now I have some really nice things...and my wife got some really nice furniture, a piano and some other stuff as well. In my opinion money is simply a means to trade for what you want.

Suddenly the reason for the fast forward in the other thread, and homeless shelter, makes sense!

Glad to see that things are getting back to normal!
