I recieved my new etys yesterday and since have been doing alot of experiments with the different tips.

ive found the black (med) foamies isolate the best, and create alot more bass than the tri flange, but they seem to recess the midrange quite a bit. the treble is very clear and pronounced.

the triflange seems to give the music alot more air than the foamies the treble and midrange is alot more upfront and they make the music quite bass weak, the triflange reduces the bass by alllllong way compared to the foamies.

i made some bi flanges by cutting off the tips of some tri's; the bass improved noticabley straight away, while still maintaining a very airy feeling with crystal mids and highs. one thing though, they arent as bass weak as the tri's but they are weak compared to the foamies.

i must say the foamies do not feel anywhere as near as comfortable as the tri's or bi's. they do make alot more bass but they seem to muddy up the midrange.

the reduced bass on the bi's compared to the foamies is like night and day and is a bit diassapointing since the bass from the foamies would be the most enjoyable.

in all i find the bi's my favourite at the moment, but whenever i feel like i want some bass i just chuck on the foamies.

Lots of ppl like the foamies 'cuz they are ezier to get a good seal with. U may wanto experiment with both again and making sure you can get as good a seal with the tri/bis as with foamies, THEN u can be sure.

I would try both wo any music, just wear them, have the TV on and judge whether you are getting the same attenuation with both. Stand at a fixed distance from TV, turn yourself around and wiggle/push in phone to get desired attenuation, THEN play the music.
