Anybody ever heard of them?

This is Shara Worden's project - former vocalist for Awry. Awry's pretty good too, but My Brightest Diamond has more of a fantastic air to it - meaning, the lyrics and instrumentation exude almost an epic tale.

Now, I don't listen to lyrics (really only vocal tone, rhythm and articulation) - but the words I did happen to catch presented this to me.

Unfortunately, the official website doesn't say much about the rest of the band. But, if you haven't heard the band, give it a listen. I recommend "Something of an End" and "Golden Star" (not the remix)

I like this group so much, I just bought a turntable and the vinyl of "Bring Me the Workhorse".

Thanks for the heads up on her new stuff. That self-titled Orange Album by Awry is outstanding.

Yes one of the best albums I've hear in a long time. There's just something to her music that's addictive. Very different and I love her voice.

I just stumbled across Bring Me the Workhorse and it's commanding a lot of my listening time, especially the night time variety. When I first heard her sing the words "free me" as spoken by a dragonfly trapped in a spider's web I was floored. What would a dragonfly sound like if it could talk? The way Shara Worden imagined it would.

I should mention that I'm skeptical of songs written about insects like dragonflies and butterflies. They're often trite and boring... that's what I was expecting, and I was way wrong.
