My AKG comparison K7XX, K712, 65th Annies and the rest! to stop this confusion!

Fwiw I just ordered a pair of K712 and I've got the Q701's already so I'd able to give you some comparison between those two. By all indications they'll both have more bass than the K701/702.

I own that too.

For me, Q701 with the pads of K712 sound very similar to K712.

d) K812 is a perfected K701, which means fuller sound (approx +3dB for everything below 1kHz region) preserving K701's treble linearity, unlike warmer K7-variants.
It's also different in terms of presentation as it's slightly clearer and faster, leading to superior instrument separation/tracking.
Keep in mind that despite being slightly warmer, the K812 preserves the incissive, tool-like sound of K701 that can get sibilant or even strident if the recording leans towards that side.
In other words, K812 is not an easy going and relaxing headphone like the K712 can be.

High grade AKGs are known for being bright, they are all relatively bright...
K7XX is the one with more bass and likely the one that you'll find less bright. Not necessarily the most balanced, as all parts of the spectrum come into play when it comes to balance.
As I've said before, K7XX might fall into the slightly v-shaped camp, with raised bass, recessed upper mids/lowest treble (3-4kHz region) and relatively highlighted 6-8kHz region.

With this, you have right. For relaxed sound K712, for analytic fun sound K812.
Mostly I hear with K812

Sounds good to me, I really love the sound of the Q701's but the hard pads makes them uncomfortable for me in longer sessions.

K7xx/K712 have more accurate 3D soundstage. Difference is quite a big. One of the best stage you can have.

AKG K501 was the best stage i have ever heard

K501 - a bit thin sound, if you compare with K812. K501 have a roll off in deep-bass and highs. But K501 have no tended to overemphasis sibilants.

Over all K812 is here 'the king'!

Well, the actual hugest stage was from Solderdude mod AKG k551. It was out of reach amount of stage.

K812 is second

K501 is the only headphone to construct the most natural stage for me

K501 was not thin, k500 was..

Sorry, but huger stage does not mean more accurate.
Well, I agree
My fault

Akg k551 mod sound like Akg k501 extended in bass(sub bass also) and treble

So due to closed back bass response and tighter impulse, the bass gives the feeling of crazy amount of depth and damping in front reduce the AKG famous glare.

So the stage sounds like without wall

AKG k501 with subbass and 2dB octave boost in treble

Which gives a sense of huge stage

AKG K701 is what I call artificially constructed stage(bigger that life sound

I just bought a pair of 7xx from sales here so i figure which one is better for gaming. I do love the 702s but there are occasions the treble is harsh but maybe I just have then a tad loud too.

Hope they will satisfy you.
The reason I stayed with the K701 was just that accentuated treble on K702.
But K7xx is an another song.

The resolution from K/Q7xx are not so detailed as K812/K872 offers. K/Q7xx are a bit darker for me.

In the sound balance K501, K812, K872, K1000 and Stax 009 are similarly for me. But that has nothing to do with rating or ranking.

Addendum:
Just now compared again, against a K812 - K/Q7xx or K501 have no chance. K812 is another league.
