I'm sure there is another thread like this but...

Every day I turn on the radio or take a walk at the mall or go to a doctors office and experience music that is NOT musical. There is a distinct difference between music that is from the heart and noise that is made by pounding on the piano or plucking a string. My venture to find musical music is never ending and that’s why I started this thread. I consider the following bands/individuals extremely musical…

Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin, Paco de Lucia (The Guitar Trio)
Emile Pandolfi
Buddy Rich
Jeremy Camp
Hiromi
Opeth
The Real Group

Please add to the list…

Hiromi Uehara is easy on the eyes, which isn't relevant, but nice.

It is relevant, because her physical expression is a huge asset for her lives. I just saw her in San Francisco. I can't recommend her more highly.

And there's never a moment where both of these are present in music?

I think Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote alot of really great musical musical music. Although some of their musical music was not that musical, although it may have been more musical than other musical music that is in other non-musical musicals. But even some of those non-musical musicals had more musical music than alot of the music that passes for musical music today, even though it is definitely non-musical music.

Lesson: poorly defined terms and adjectives do little to enhance our understanding.

I find this a particularly striking example of emotional, soulful music.
