What music styles can the er6i's handle best?

I listen to quite a bit of classical, jazz, Dave Matthews Band. No rap, hip hop or really most music written this millennium. My source is an iPod Classic (which is why I thought of the er6i's). I do listen to a small amount of rock also.

They are known for accuracy and detail which matches well with what you listen to.

They do very well for those genres - but if you are looking to spend a lil less and get a better sounding product - get the im716 or im616 for something comperable to the ety6i.
