Yeah, maybe that's why mine is kind of bass heavy.
The higher the coupling caps value, the more emphasis on the low frequencies. If you want more bass, you put a higher value within the range for the coupling caps, if you want less bass you put a smaller value. I hope that 8.2uF is a mistake, because with some capacitor brands, an 8.2uF film and foil cap is almost half the size of a coke can.Yeah, maybe that's why mine is kind of bass heavy.
Now, that will be a problem fitting such value of the Mundorf Supreme caps into the case. These caps are huge. For example, I wasn't able to fit 3.3uF of the Mundorf Supreme Evo aluminum in the case of my Mk2 version, I am guessing that the MK3 has the same dimensions. All the spare caps I have are too small, so I was thinking of getting some mundrof.
I would have to see the schematic to confirm why, but these caps are meant to block any DC signal from the supplies from going to the amplifier/speakers. So they are DC blocking caps. It could be to further lower the noise floor at the outputs.Yeah, I will have to check the dimensions.
So why do you think they went up on the value on the caps?
Did you change the power filter cap also, if so what did you use.
