Is there any music recording that were made for headphones, something that will really blow my mind?? I did a search but only came up with nothing. I think I remember reading about one such cd in one of my guitar mags, I will look, if I find it i will post the name.

I could be wrong here, but search under Moby. I think I remember someone saying his latest was made for cans.

I've also heard folks mention Roger Waters - Amused to Death. Though I have to say that while I bow to no one in my appreciation for Floyd, I just don't get AtD.

go to the music section. i think what you're looking for is binaural.

or, do a search for "binaural" in the music section.

Check out Stephen King's story-on-CD "The Mist"

It was recorded like a live drama, not like a read book, and the stereo microphones were recording from the ear placements of a dummy head. That's the best way I can think to describe it at the moment. I think its termed binaural recording. Anyway, the result is a very interesting 3D like surround sound, and it's a spooky story too....

most of the stuff done by the microphones sounds pretty good on headphones.. i'm sure they considered what it would sound like.. also the last few albums by radiohead and the flaming lips have things that are definately brought out by headphones..
