I am finding my MSR7 to be a bit piercing. I'm not too familiar with proper term usage, but it may be treble or highs. I love the sound stage though. I'm curious, would CD900ST sound similar to this headphone, but maybe not as bright where it causes me some discomfort and fatigue? Could also use a bit more bass. I'm using YAXI Comfort Pads if it makes a difference, I feel that the stock sound still fatigues my ears.
That said, how do both compare to the MDRV6? I can get a pair easily & may appreciate the warmer, smoother sound. Will I lose clarity and soundstage then? I much prefer the MSR7 to M40x as M40 has an "in your head" sound and MSR7 I can place the instruments outside of myself.
I can tell the MSR7 is a prestigious headphone with a beautiful sound, but something about it is bothering me. I generally listen to IDM like Autechre or Aphex Twin. Sometimes music like Faye Wong.
