Just type in ms1 in SEARCH button-that should keep you busy for an hour or two

I'm surprised that no one has both. these are pretty popular cans. What sounds better at low volumes? does the 555 rock as good as ms1s? whats better all around? whats better from a portable? what improves more with an amp? any details are welcome

I had the sr-125 (with flat pads) and sold it to get the hd555. The hd555 has better soundstage than the sr125, highs are present but not extremely so as in the sr125, midrange is much more pleasantly warm than the sr125, bass is deeper and has almost as much impact and slam. Comfort is flat out superior. Detail is on par with the sr125. Presentation of the hd555 is a little more laid back, which personally I prefer.

IMHO the hd555 trounces the sr125 in every respect but bass slam, but that should come as no surprise as grados bass slam is pretty much the best there is.

I haven't done any critical listening with my hd555 unamped, good point. Can't comment on that right now.

*EDIT- I CAN say that the hd555 amped beats the sr125 amped, or the sr125 unamped.
