Hi All,

Specifically:

- bass impact : I realise these arent Ultrasones, but I do like something I assume that the bass is at least on a par with the MS-1 ?

- brightness : granted, a relative term, but I may need a complete source upgrade at home if they are as bright as the MS-1.

- bang for buck : the Ms-Pro is several hundred dollars cheaper than the RS1 here in Oz, but I will be in Singapore/Malaysia in December and the gap may be less painful. Is there anything which would make the RS1 a better buy ?

I realise that, for some Head-Fiers, the difference between Grado and Alessandro is very minimal, but Alessandro are a much better deal here in Oz.

Tks,

estreeter

You should likely do a search, as this has been discussed to death on these forums. I plugged your title into the search bar and here's what came up in an easy-breezy point-five seconds:

http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/ale...rs-1-a-272258/

http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/gra...ms-pro-377791/

http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/ale...do-rs1-346423/

http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f13/se...sic-pro-43286/

http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/ale...s-grado-95754/ etc.

Search is your friend!

If you like neutral and clear sound, go for the MS-Pro

If you want more "fun" sound but muddier mids, go for the RS-1 (at least this is the case with non-"i" versions)

if you like what the rs-1 does but is too much of a good thing for you, msp is way to go as it has less character. no such thing as too much character in my book thus nothing tops rs-1 for me.

Thanks guys. Sampson, my apologies, as I recently posted that a recommendations sub-forum might be a good way to minimise threads that ask the same question repeatedly, but I plugged 'MS-Pro' into the search box before starting this thread and it only returned threads where the MS-Pro was mentioned in passing. Clearly, I need to be more specific with my searches - thanks for your help.

No worries, at all! So much info. to sift through. So many opinions to weigh... It can get a bit crazy sometimes.
