I currently use a pair of SR80's with an x-fi powering them. I've gotten the bug to upgrade recently and was curious as to what people have to say about these two options. Also in the mix might be the sr225's. I'm from Toronto, so if anyones looking to sell

P.S. are the ms2's based on the 325i drivers?

what kind of sound are you looking for? alessandros tend to be more neutral than their grado bretheren.

If you like the SR-80s you'll love the 325is. Even the 225s are a good upgrade and sound very similar to the 325is with minor differences. I haven't heard the MS-2is yet, so I can't compare. I purchased the 325is because they were less expensive than the MS-2i.

Why not keeping the SR80s (e.g. as portables) and look out for something completely different (e.g. circumaural "grown up" AKGs/Senns/Beyers) as next fon? Or are you low on budget?

Thanks for the comments. I'm on a budget and therefore wont be getting an amp but the low impediance of the grado drivers shouldn't require one when teamed up with the x-fi. I mainly listen to "rock" so I am looking for bass and detail.
