MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

Alas, not really. It's kind of a 1 way trip.

I was slightly afraid of that. Couple of questions with that in mind...

Are you planning any additional pad options to take advantage of the newer pad mount style?

Could you simply apply a small ring of the adhesive to the current pad mounting lip to provide a adequate (or even good) hold onto the mounting deck?

Do the E2 stock pads, which I assume would be the closest to stock maintain the Ethers sound profile roughly?

If there's enough demand for the upgrade for us to do it then sure, we'd be making most, maybe all pad variants support the format...

I am guessing that the newer pads have less isolation than the latest ETHER Flow C pads

I was referring to the sticky earpads that are self installable. I have not gotten them yet, because I'm pretty sure I'd mess up the install.

(I skimmed the conversation and may have misunderstood what was being discussed. Sorry.)

The pealable ear pads won't mount on an ETHER or ETHER Flow headphone without a modification to the headphone; the old pad mounting ring needs to be removed. Many headphones just require 6 screws to be removed but older units had a lot more screws and some adhesive, so it's neither safe nor practical for all users.

No, the opposite. New pads have a denser foam than most older pads, the density improves isolation. Of cours, that is in theory and YMMV. It's theoretically possible to consider use cases where the older pads had a larger contact surface area and may in some cases isolate better, so this is a general answer and not a guarantee.

Have you done some testing on how the new pads would affect the sound?

Sure, it varies by pad and model. If we proceed we would also make the old pads available with the new pealable option so people can also easily preserve the basic sound.

Anyone happen to have handy the 1.1 response graph, can't seem to find it.
Is anyone not using any of the 3 pads?

My Ether Flow Open are from April 2017, I think they are 1st gen.
Could you please reply with different upgrades and improvements I can apply?
From Spain

The only upgrades are to get the 1.1 tuning kit and perhaps to upgrade to a VIVO cable, which has a smoother, more resolving sound and a larger soundstage.
