OK, so finally go to sit down to this tonight using the Mojo for quick headphone swaps with its dual single-ended outputs. Hadn't got much further than volume matching when the twins woke up, so unfortunately will need to postpone thoughts on SQ till tomorrow night.
Regards isolation - after volume matching both to 85dB I measured each ~20cm from the R cup on my head and they were effectively the same. The T5p might have had a 1-2 dB advantage, but not worth quibbling over. On a less rigorous test, with someone else wearing them in turn at matched volumes they seemed subjectively to be equivalent.
Comfort wise similar, with my glasses on the flat pads of the T5p are more comfortable as the angled Ether C pads create a little pressure area, without glasses I think the Ether C is a hair more comfortable. That's saying something really, when you consider that I rate the T5p as a very comfortable headphone amongst those I've owned or tried for any length of time and that we are talking a Planar Magnetic headphone in the Ether C.
Will hopefully get to do actual testing of SQ tomorrow night, I think I will use my desktop rig which also has dual single-ended outputs.
Thank you, that's really good to know about the isolation. I don't wear glasses so would love it if they're even more comfortable than the T5p.
