Completely agree. However, the nearest place is about 2 1/2 hours away. I guess I could always return them if they aren't for me.

Think i may have to hit that and bring my Ether C's to help me decide on the greatest desktop amp on the planet. Also pretty sure I'm going to get a QP1R.

Technics had a receiver thing that blew my mind at Can Jam, and Headamp had something spectacular there too, even though i don't see them on the list.

My setup is a Bimbmy to Asgard 2, but it seems brighter than I like on the Ether C, anyone else get that?

I'm borrowing my buddy's Vali 2 tonight (bigro on here) and man this thing is a really FUN amp! Bass seems more extended than the A2.

I'm not sure he's getting this back!

The Ether C are not warm and not think, so they may seem bright. You might want to try the white running pad. I started using it after I got my Audio Zenith headphones.

Also, the ether c really does need 100-150 (maybe 200) hours of good solid break in. Even then, it will sound a little thin to some people.

Do you guys think Dan might have some Ether Cs NIB for sale at can Jam? I'm honestly thinking of heading there with my Tax Return an just leaving with a headphone I really like

I believe he had some at RMAF so I wouldn't be surprised.

Very interesting, and definitely think it makes a lot of sense. Especially given the growth in competitive gaming, could see this being a worthwhile investment for professional gamers.

“Gaming headphones benefit from the attributes that are integral to what makes an excellent audio headphone. What audiophiles call soundstage and imaging are the same things that cue gamers to where players and events are in game space. However, particularly for gamers who compete in public or play around other people and wish to not bother them, a closed headphone is essential. Choices have been limited to date because soundstage is hard to get right in closed headphones,” says Dan Clark, Headmaster of MrSpeakers. “We thought that with ETHER C’s big, open sound, great isolation and comfort, ETHER C would be a perfect solution for gamers seeking a truly realistic and immersive gaming experience.”

It's a great idea and it will probably be the best gaming setup you can get short of a Smythe Realizer.  I'm really looking forward to checking it out when I hit CES on Friday.

That said, I'm not really sure how many gamers are going to want to spend that much on audio.  Most of them think spending $300 on an Astro A50 is ludicrous...
