  The stock MrSpeakers cable is smooth (Canare cable it looks like to me.)  The microphonics are present and pronounced.  I deal with it because the Alpha Dog (and now the Alpha Prime) sound so darn good otherwise that I simply don't want to listen to any other headphone.

Our 1/4" cable is smooth and the 3.5mm is woven, so which you use depends on your system.
You can always use a 1/4” to 3.5mm adaptor….
