Wow. I've heard a few amps, but this thing is at a whole other level.

I've heard corda ha1mk2, gilmore lite v2, woo3.

I had heard of diminishing returns

I had a benchmark dac1 with gilmore lite for more than a month recently, and the improvement in sound (from emu1212m) with benchmark dac1 was very small, diminishing return.

Wholly crap. Buena vista social club sounds crazy.

once you've got decent source and phones, AMP first!!

I have thought from the very beginning the SLAM is a crazy good sounding amp .... I am glad you do too. I dont know what tubes you have but the RCA 6cg7 /Tung Sol D getter 5687 combo is a great pairing.

If "SE" stands for Special Edition, I fail to se the motivation behind the designation: All SinglePowers are special editions

, i.e. in one or several ways factory modified.

However, if there were significant changes to it, such as e.g. a Supra transformer, slightly different circuitry, different chassis/colour, and so on, I think it could earn a SE.
