Wonder anyone has come across this portable player. It plays MP3, Ogg, and video MPEG1/2/4 files etc. It also has video, and a Dolby 5.1 optical line out. The spec looks quite impressive. Wonder how it sounds?

Here is a quote from the mPack forum:

"The sound quality is this. line in 320kbs mp3 @ 32 khz sampling mic in is the same but mic quality is a bit muffled. recording level is done by the volume control which means you need to listen to it loud to get good recording level.

with a good recording level it sounds good, but very quiet levels, some mp3 artifacts can be heard, but it is still miles better than most mp3 players.

playback is good, with very little distortion, although, if you have sensitive headphones and listen with volume down, there is a bit of hiss, but i find this not a problem.

bas and treble are done by hardware and dont suffer from distortion but the bass seems to be around 100-200hz so deep bass reproduction is not as good as it could be. the preset equalisers dont help much either, although the chipset is capable of good adjustments if pqi implemented it."
