So I've recently purchased a Meier Audio 2Move to pair with my DT880's. After a little use, I've realized I don't plan on actually using the 2Move with my iPod like I originally planned, so I now figure I'd be better off with a decent Tube Amp. So that is where Head-Fi comes in.

I plan on selling the Corda 2Move on these forums(I have heatware and whatnot, just a matter of 50 posts now) which should net me around $225. I am also going to sell my ALO LOD to Mini which should also net me around $50 or so. So, for around $275, what would be my best option for a tube amp? I was thinking a Little Dot MKIII would be great, but I have to ask for advice before I spend that kind money on something I know so little about.

Also, for this price range, would I get a noticeable improvement over my current portable amp by moving to a tube amp? I can't really spend much over the current price range as I am already broke from the last expense(Damn you Head-fi). Oh, and this is mainly for Prog Rock/Metal. Thanks in advance for the help.

The Little Dot MkIII will suit your needs nicely and will certainly be a meaningful upgrade from portable amps. Little Dots are quite transparent and respond very favorably to tube rolling, so leave a little money in your budget for tube upgrades in the future.

Is a Little Dot MKIV worth the $300 compared to other amps? I haven't seen much around about it. Also, would upgraded to the Little Dot MKIV SE be an even better option? I might be able to squeak out the $400 Price Tag after selling everything.

Any other opinions regarding an amp for around the Price of a Little Dot MKIV SE($400)? Otherwise, all I am waiting for is Paypal to verify me... PITA.

Oh, and how is a Creative X-Fi ExtremeGamer for an audio source? That is the best I have and I really can't afford anymore. If it isn't that good, would I be better with a Tube Amp that has a built in DAC? Maybe something like the TNS Sweet-2 Mini Tube Amplifier W/ Tubes Rectifier & USB DAC? Thanks.

Edit: Would upgrading my sound card to something like the Prelude and just grabbing a regular Little Dot MKIV be a better value?
