No 4.4 Pentacon like literally everyone else? 2.5 needs to go away.

Dear friends,

In fact, half a year ago, we had already placed an order of the 9218 chip ready for the next year. However, in the middle of the process, the chip manufacturer suddenly told us that they would no longer produce the 9218, so we were forced to choose the 9219. Frankly speaking, we had no plans to update the BTR5. But since the old BTR5 was out of stock, we must make the new version as soon as possible in order to meet the market needs. Even if we only changed the DAC, it took several months. The new BTR5 is not equipped with a 4.4 balanced port because of its limited size. If it is forced to be added, the structure and PCB will have to be changed. That would take much more time instead of months.

Best regards

Understandable. I’ve been happy with my BTR5 for a long time and look forward to future offerings. I still have a Q5, an X3 and an X5.

Hi Fiio

I just bought a M3pro, after already owning a btr5 and a M11 plus.

A great idea came to mind. Why not add a card reader to a btr5 style amp? Use the phone to browse the library.

It would solve some of the shortcomings I experience. It would be small, portable, great sq (no Bluetooth). And I could bring my own library with me super easy.

It would be a total winner.

Do you mean something like the USB dongle? If yes, you could check whether our KA3 meet your need: https://www.fiio.com/ka3
