I have heard the Moth amp mentioned here a little.

Which of their amps works for cans? The Si2A3?

This amp is intriguing, to say the least. Is it like the Cary unit that is really a regular amp that happens to kick butt for cans also?

I wonder how it compares to the ZOTL and Audio Valve headphone amps.

They ( http://www.mothaudio.com/products.html ) only make power amps... but I suppose you *can* use it as a headphone amp as outlined above. I think it's overkill. Gotta love the look of their equipment. It's so "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea".

(come to think of it, I do like the way they look)

I kicked around the idea of the Moth, but re-read that infamously useless headphone amp round-up from Absolute Sound that came out something like a year ago. The "reviewer" (and I'm complimenting him by calling him that) mentioned that he felt that the Moth was great except it seemed to emphasize tape hiss, and he found it distracting.
