remember the moth audio night light for a lot of money? well, this is sort of cheesy but not too bad for like $50.
build a box with a standard base light socket. put a pyrex bowl over the top with a dimmer control on the front. all at home depot. then use this light bulb. http://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod640013&categoryId=search
sure, it is not the real thing but looks nearly as nice. all that thing was is powering the heater anyways for all that money.
