well, sob story short, about a year ago i came to these very forums to research my first IEM purchase, ended up buying UE super.fi 5 pro's from a great seller here, and having happily used them for hundreds of hours, i recently lost them

I particularly loved the sound of those earphones: the mid and high-ranges were perfect for my tastes, the fit and comfort suited me well (I found the FS mod to work excellently), and the bass, it was exactly what i was looking for.

since they were a steal when i originally bought them ($120), i'm looking to spend a similar amount now. sure, i could hawk the sales forums for the next month hoping to hop on a For Sale ad, but in the time that has elapsed since that purchase, there seem to be a TON of alternatives in the earphone market.

to conclude...which earphones are the closest to the UE super.fi 5 pro in terms of sound quality, and in a similar price range?

TIA

I heard the Westone UM2's sound very similar to UE super.fi 5 Pro's with its enhanced bass-response and smooth euphoric sound!

Well you can try to get another pair of UE super.fi 5 Pro's as replacement. Nothing comes close in terms of similarity to the original as another identical pair.

I was going to say Senn 580 but the Equation Audio RP-21 may be closer because they are closed headphones.

Both have full bass like the UE's.
