Most practical headphone?

Define practical? Uh, OK.
Headphones that can be used from the widest sources and is the most practical to use under all conditions (high/low ambient noise, necessity to avoid sound leaking, long-term use, travelling / fixed).
With the above conditions, I voted for the MDR-7506 because it works from virtually anything and sounds pretty good, it's strong, comfortable and durable, it's fully closed, it's rebuildable, it has a unimatch plug, it folds into a small package and comes with a bag.

I would say adding the Beyer pads to the V6 makes them even more practical (though I've never heard the V6).

The Koss KSC35 is a "practical" headphone. It would be more practical if it were closed though.
