yeah, but BD & AKG make microphones, wireless mics, mixers..., and Grado makes cartridges. Denon makes CD players, microphones, headphones... Sennheiser makes microphones, wireless units, aviation mic sets...

another vote for Sony. my original headphones were V-600s. BLEH! on vocals when there was an "S" in any word it sounded like a hisssss.

however my home stereo amp, DVD, and cd jukebox are Sony are they are decent for the low price. i do like the remotes.

beyerdynamic other than in our little world is not a recognized name and thus can't be overrated.

pretty much any fairly educated consumer knows about Sennheiser. people that dig a bit deeper will find grado and akg with no problem. you would hafta join a devoted forum or be a reader of hifi mags to find beyerdynamic.

I do not consider the Sonys overrated in any way, they are overpriced, that is different, nobody says that they made some good headphones, but themselves (and a few guys here including me) at least not here, the serious magazines do not say that neither, all the manufacturer websites shown their own products as the best of the market, this simple logic, if you do not consider that your are good who is gonna do it, OTOH the sellers try always to sell the more expensive products (more profits) Sony is pretty expensive, just never believe a seller. But it seems to be a waste of time and energy, as nobody here believes that they can make a decent headphones, maybe all what people had tried here are the worst of their world, but they do, CD3000 and MDR-R10, are along with some others as the V6, 7509, V700DJ a little less expensive, of course not all of their headphones are good......But I was hearing from AKG, AT, Grado, Seenheiser, since I was a kid, as a top headphone brands, and I never liked any of the few models I've tried for a short periods of time (not the Grados, I never tried any, not the Seens I love them) but I never say that they are bad (or good)...just that I don't like them, I think that in my case I feel that those are more overrated than the Sonys according to what I've had heard...but maybe I'm wrong again......
