How's that headband mod? I've been thinking about doing it, is it worth it? Does it push the phones closer to your ears?

4G RWA iMod - 479
RSA Hornet - 400
ALO Horseshoe - 118
Senn 595s - 200

total: 1197

And would you believe I bought the 595s because I wanted something that sounded good out of an iPod headphone jack? That way, I wouldn't feel the need to upgrade. We'll see how long those 595s last.

It does push the phones closer. (By the way, I am doing my own headphone mod not kramer's). I was too lazy to cut out the headband headphone area so the headphones arne't fully open anymore. Consequently the sound is still clear and detailed but it seems like the highs aren't as sparkly. I like the new sound because it's not as fatiguing. Also, it is more comfortable to wear.

I don't know how much has changed with KG since those days but I'm not averse to packing my HE60s with a Stax SRD-X Pro and running them from my Sony DNE-1 through an AOL Picollo DAC. Only for short trips, mind you - generally spring evenings under clear skies shimmering with stars

Of course, the regular portable rig is merely a Sony NW-HD5 through RSA Hornet to UM2
