Hi,

I just realized earbuds in general are not very durable.... at least from my own experience. I've had multiple earbuds that lasted me less than 6 months. I was just wondering if you guys could recommend me some durable earbuds that will last a while perhaps even a lifetime. Because it is just so hard nowadays to find a earbud that can sustain the test of time.

Okay, thanks for the recommendation.

Are there any higher quality ones? Because I notice a lot of the brands from China seem to be higher quality or seem to portray higher quality from its exterior... (Xiaomi Hybrid, Boarseman KR49i, Boarseman CX98, etc.) They have braided cables and thicker cables than most earbuds that I encounter. I thought products from China were often associated with lower quality (no offense)?

Thicker and bigger doesn't always mean better. The strain relief and bending around the plug is what often breaks down first. Braided rubber/silicone cables tend to wear over time (etymotic er4s is a great example of this), but softer braided cables are an exception. I just never found an earbud that has braided cables (often silver) AND provided a frequency response tailored for my preferences.

Simple designs tend to last the longest, so looks aren't everything.

What is the difference between a softer braided cable and a normal one?

Old braided cables use the same material as a regular straight cable except they heat treat it to achieve the braiding. Of course a soft cable is better in the long term for durability.
