Most disappointing headphone purchase

well many phones are a love/hate thing....like the Proline750

It sounded like $15 noname headphones to me, very metallic mids, very uncomfy(pads are too small for adult ears), very cheap plastic, no isolation whatsoever...I mean nothing's good basically, and the price they ask is really not on par w/ the build quality.

many ppl will agree w/ me, and some others will call them the best cans on earth

I bought these PL750 based on the feedback here, and my usual trust fell in pieces when I heard it

so yeah, buy several pairs and keep the one you like

I didn't like the DT770/Pro coz the clamping was simply too strong...but the isolation was fantastic! you could almost use a gun w/ these things

Definitely the Sennheiser MX500. They had NO bass whatsoever and the treble was deafening.
At the time I had only the HD457 which I liked (I didn't know any better then) and I didn't think anything from Sennheiser could be bad...
I was so disappointed I actually GAVE them to a friend of mine.

Can't agree with the MX500. They started my slippery slope into head-fi. Biggest critisim I had with them was their large size.

Large size? MX500?
We are talking about the earbuds, right?

PL750s. Although, they weren't bad per-se, just the most disappointing of what I've bought. Mids were a tad recessed for my liking, comfort was okay but not great, they sounded a tad metallic, but most of all the sibilance was simply unbearable for my liking.

If anyone ever wanted proof that we all hear things differently then this thread is it.

I recently bought the Denon AH-D7000 and sold them three days later. To me the sound was very claustrophobic with no soundstage to speak of. Bass response was nice for the most part but the mids and treble were very dark and warm sounding...too warm to be pleasing to my ears.

Apple in ear. No bass at all. It's a very detailed earphones though. Probably it's just not my taste.
