Hi,

I have the Etymotic ER-4p and crazy as it sounds, I never went OH MY GOSH. Had them for like 3 years now and just figured that this is how great IEMs sound, even though they weren't that great to me. I think alot of it had to do with how uncomfortable they are and how much of a hassle they are to put in.
I would even venture to say that I've never gotten a good seal?

Anyway, I want something that is comfortable to wear. The 3 listed above seem to be the best of the best, so which one of these is the most comfortable? What about the most comfortable IEM overall? Are they all about the same?

I think Westones are probably the most comfortable universal IEMs.

My ER-4P are much less than comfortable using tri-flanges, but they're easy wearing with Shure black foams.

Westone UM2s are probably the most comfortable.

My ER-4Ps are very comfortable as well when using Shure foams.

x2 on the Etys with olives. Synergetic comfort!

I can't say for the 530s because I've never worn them, but x3 on the Etys with olives. Those will likely be your best comfort bet.

Put some Comply foams on a set of UEs and they are sweetly comfortable and seal lovely.

Etys + Shure black foamies, at least if the Ety's cable has the braided wires.
Otherwise Shure SE530, again with the black foamies (but also silicon tips seal decently, for silicons that is

).

The Triple.if are uncomfortable as hell.

I have/had Shure, Ety, Westone, UE, Klipsch, etc.

Klipsch Image X10 are the most comfortable. I am pretty sure they will be comfortable for any ear shape since they are so small.

I just received some Comply foams today and have had a chance to get used to them now, for several hours. I ordered them for my UE3s, which the nozzles are about the same size as Senns and more common $20, $30 and $40 canalphones, so they won't work with Etys or Klipsch, etc. But they make a dramatic improvement in comfort for the UE brand. I would say they are even more comfy that the olives.

Had I not ordered the olives first, I wouldn't have ordered them at all and would have, instead, just bought more of these Comply foams for my various phones.

I found the Westone UM2 to be very comfortable.
Could wear them for 4-5 hours before noticing any kind of pain.
