What are the most comfortable headphones for around $150.

How about headphones for $300?

I care more about comfort and I don't want too much pressure on my ears.

Anything circumaural. It has a pad that presses against the side of your head and doesn't touch your ear at all.

I'd suggest Sennheiser HD580/595/600/650, though there are other brands with circumaural phones.

What you want are the Denon D2000's. Often seen on the FS forums and elsewhere for around $200.

Audio Technica A700, AD700, A900 or AD900

I use the Audio Technica AD500 ($80), they are light on the head and a very light pressure on the ears.

They give you the Princes Lela look.

I agree. The AD700 is the most comfortable headphone Ive ever worn. I forget im wearing it sometimes. Very little pressure is put on your head.

The ATH AD700s in particular seem to float on your head. They are so light as to be barely noticable - a neat trick for a full sized headphone. As a plus they sound pretty darn good too.

Beyerdynamic DT880 is my favorite so far, though it may be a little tough to find it for $200. The DT770 is slightly less comfortable, but can be had for $200.

I'll second the mention for Audio-Technica. I had an A900 for a brief period and it was extremely comfortable. The only reason I give the nod to the Beyers is because they have velour pads, unlike the AT, so my ears don't get as warm.

Hey, Yep I think velour pads are more comfortable then leither/pleather. Leather gets hot quickly on my ears.

No offense mate, but if sq isnt important, dropping $150 on a set of cans is stupid.

I used to have a pair of Koss UR18. Cost less than $20. Very comfy. Also had a pair of Sony MDR-V250. about $22. also very comfy, especially for a supra-aural design. The sonys (imo) were head and shoulders above the koss better sounding, but the Koss were more comfortable

AKG K601 is a very comfortable headphone, also if you have a big head.

For closed: The Denon range of full-sized cans: D1001, D2000.
For open: The Audio Techinca range of full-sized cans: AD700, etc.
