What's the most comfortable closed headphones in your opinion? Doesn't matter about the cost, impedance. But it better be full size for person with large ears.

the sony cd1700 has got to be one of them.

I just spend a short time with my new Beyerdynamic DT770's, they are extremely comfortable.

That depends on the size of your head though.. larger headed people will find they clamp too much. with the headband fully extended i find them just right. and they have soooo much room inside them

With the padding off they are comfortable for me. Damn short headband!

I guess the Beyerdynamic Dt250-80/250 would be a candidate.

I think the Audio Technicas are the most comfortable closed headphones.

If your choice is based on comfort alone perhaps the Sony MDR-F1 or the Panasonic RP-HDA100 would be the best.

AH OK, I didn't read the bit about CLOSED. Duh. In that case, Audio-Technica ART series.

Ugh, that honor HAS to go to the Sony CD2000s. When I put them on at the WOH tour, it was simply incredible. They are like the softest pillow on your head. Simply amazing.

I heard the earcups are the same as V6, which means they cannot go around my ears, that's even more uncomfortable and it's ability to block ambient noise as a closed can is greatly reduced.

Also on Headphone.com, why is 770 getting 4 in comfort rating while 831 gets a 5, are the earcups very similar (same material)?

but they're really loose, I gotta say. I don't move around much with mine, so its fine, and the looseness adds to the "its not there" kinda feeling..but others who dance with their cans on might find the looseness disconcerting..

oh, the A100Tis and CD3Ks have this really cool leather pads..or fake leather..its so smooth and soft, unlike the pleather on cheaper cans..its like skin! (Sony did mention a "collagen-like" feel in their description)

Just got some 831's, and they are very comfortable. Real nice pads. Better than the HD-280 Pros I had.
