I know this will be a minority thread, but my UE-10 Pro should be with me in less than 2 weeks. As I haven't yet see or held the earpieces in person it is difficult to determine, but do any of the UE owners think that a Shure E5 hard round case would be sufficiently big enough to secure the UEs? I have a Shure E2 case, but I'm guessing that the earpieces won't fit inside the cable spool.

The included leather case looks quite crappy compared to the stylish (but large) engraved flight case!!

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks.

if you wanna use the shure case, get the one that comes with the e5's.

it's made of a nicer material than the ones that come with the e2's and e3's. it also does not have the spool.

you can get it on shure's website i believe.

I'm just taking a guess, but I highly doubt that a set of UE-10's would fit properly in the E5 zipper case.

And I'm taking a wild guess that the etymotic zipper case is also out?

I'd already put this one out because it is easily crushed. Because of the custom design and the long ear canal part they could be easily broken.

The Shure E5c case I originally mentioned is the best I've seen because it is made of the same material a lot of sunglasses case are. You could sit on it and not deform the case.

Pick up a hard case for eyeglasses. Works great for my Ety's.

I would definitely rule out the E5's case if it has the same size as E3s.

Interesting thread, though, it got me to start thinking about this. So far I'm using the Heavy Metal case, but something slightly more portable could be good.

My UE5cs fit nicely into the supplied "leatherette" little case and it is nice and portable. Oddly, though -- I find that I am using the Heavy Metal box all the time now not to protect them more but because the damn thing is just sooooo cool! Kinda hard not to use it, even though it's bigger than you'd like it to be some of the time! See what you think when you get them and then go from there.

I am currently making one! Ill post pics if your interested. IM taking a small camera case, from an elf camera. Then I am lining the case in this very thin batting, like cotton you can get at a store. then I am using very thin plasic sheets I found at home depot. They are quite ridged and I can't break them with my hand. I will line the camera case inside, then another layer of batting, and finally some red silk as a liner. So, whew.. it will be from the inside out... leather, cotton batting, plastic box to protect crushing, cotton batting, red silk. This whole thing is only the size of the small Elf camera.

Now, this is a very good idea. I have several eyeglasses cases and they are quite sturdy and spacious to keep my UE-10 PROs tucked away safely. They are also quite economical.

For those eyeglass cases (an interesting idea!) one would need some cloth or something in there to keep em from rattling around. I am intrigued by the Elph case concept -- Pedigree, maybe you can make me one?? Show pics pleeze!

This thread had some decent recommendations for cases which might suit your needs if you are looking for some protection as well...

I like the idea of hard eyeglass case myself but the Pelican case cited in the thread I reference could be what you are looking for too.

Hope this helps

The Shure E5 hard case has more than enough room to fit my Sensaphonics 2x-soft canalphones, I imagine it would fit the UE's just as well.
