Hi, i just bought a good quality aftermarket cable, AAA Nova power cable from fkclo, wich is on the way. And i am wondering wich part of my setup will it give the best upgrade? I use a Rudistor RP5.1 for an amp wich is an hybrid SS\tubes amp, i also bought a VDA-1 + VAC-1 for my dac and my transport is my Cambridge audio 540D receiver. What part do you think will the power cord will boost the most and give me the most change in SQ?

Transport, because its motor will benefit from better power and result in lower jitter.

DAC, because it is the most sensitive equipment in the chain and most vulnerable to bad power.

Amp, because it is the most power hungry equipment in the chain and will benefit most from a freely flowing power supply.

Return the cable because you can hear no difference.

Hummmm is there only the people that post in the Tweaks Cable etc forum that believe in power cord? I will see for myself then, are you skeptical people try them aftermarket cable or are only supposing that it's a stupid upgrade? I am sure kinda wondering if it will bring it results, but at least ill try it. Anyway if some of you tried some power cable on different component tell me of your discovery, thank you.

Naahh. We believe in direct mains wiring. No need for fuses, mains plugs and sockets, or even on/off switches. They would after all have a big effect on the mains crossover boundary, thereby negating any benefits the bare cable alone could possibly introduce.

Yes, for what it is worth, I have invested heavily in power cord upgrades and for me they DO make a nice difference if you have great gear! Gear first, power conditoner second, power cables third, Interconnects 4th for best improvement IMHO.

I would experiment with your one power cord in your different gear to see where you like it best. OK, here is something even more controversial: I bought a used Quantum Symphony Pro and it has impacted the power improvements to my ENTIRE system. Right now I am on another upgrade path and am selling off a Benchmark Dac1, Decware Zbox, Monarchy Upsampler BUT the Symphony Pro is staying in my system! Flame away everyone, but for me I love the quantum device!

I've always thought it mattered the most on amp but I can see it being important in all areas. I dunno how much is the "sweet spot" for power cables, but I really recommend the Signal Cable Magic Reference which is ~70-80 new and somewhere like 40 on the used market when you see them. I went from computer power cords to one and I've heard more of a difference then from the Magic Reference to a power cord that was 400 new albeit older (Analysis Plus Oval 1), though I did still hear a difference but significantly smaller.

Ok some news on my new power cable

I receive the powercable fryday but couldn't use it untill today because i was out on a trip for the weekend.

I settle down to try it on my DAC and AMP first.

I plugged it in my DAC first and listened to one complete lp. Then i switched to my amp. Right now i can tell that they each make an interesting difference. When i plug it in my DAC i get a snappier more controlled bass most of all, it also enhance the general resolution of the music. When i plug it in my amp i get a blacker background and a little tad bit warmer sound.

I can't say at wich place it will stay on my system but i can definitively say that it make quite a difference over the stock cable.

Now i don't know if it make that much of a difference over say a Quail powercable, but i now believe in the benefit of PC.
