I recently just got my NAD's. I like them, but comfort is a HUGE problem. My ears hurt after an hour, its hard to get a proper seal, the headband only sits on the top of my head, creating discomfort after about an hour, and the earcups just about manage to cover my ears. The sound though, amazing.

Are there any alternatives to the NAD's that are more comfortable, but still sound very similar? (PSB M4U 1?)
, or tips/mods that make the NAD's more comfortable, without changing the sound too much, or voiding warranty?
Any help would be appreciated. Please post answers soon (Return window will close)

If the HM5 pads don't work for you, I would steer you to the MEZE 99 Classics, which is really terrific and quite beautiful. You might read about it and see what you think. There is also the B&W P7, which is a bit bassier, but still, it sounds great. Comfortable, IMO, too.

Which type of HM5 pad do you think will work best on keeping the sound signature? I have the HM5 hybrids. Tried them, barely any bass. Im worried that HM5 Pleathers will do the same...

I have the hybrids as well, they leak so much bass. The pleather doesn't have that issue, and the sheepskin is even better.

I've seen some reports that say the pleather hm5 pads ruin the sound... Ive also seen reports that say they increase bass, but not much else in sound... IDK what i should do but... i kinda wanna risk it...

I did find the PSB M4U 1's more comfortable. The pads are the same size, but the headband and overall fit are a bit more conventional

I've had the HP50s and the M4U 1s.

I find both uncomfortable in different ways.

The M4Us have a much higher clamp force, and the pads are softer and compress more. As a result the driver presses against my ear, causing soreness. Also my head feels squished.

The NADs I find better on the ear (not perfect), but as you've noticed, they cause soreness on the top of the head, due to the headband design.

I'm actually in the same boat as you, I love the sound but the seal and comfort are my exact issues. I'm going to order the regular hm5 pads, not hybrid, not angled. I've seen ppl prefer the normal pads.

Alternatively you could look at status audio cb-1, the build quality isn't near the same as the Nads or another headphone, but they sound same neutral and very good and the stock pads are angled in a way that improves comfort.

I'm hopefully going to order the hm5 pads this week.
