How is a $190 Moondrop IEM 'flagship'?

How is a $190 Moondrop IEM 'flagship'?
It's Moondrop's 'flagship' product. Something in their lineup they think has premium/flagship sound quality.

Because price has absolutely nothing to do with actual sound quality?
Tell that to Moondrop who also have a $2700 IEM. Or maybe it's just a randomly assigned number as per your logic?

So they think it is worthy of flagship title along with their kilobuck offerings?

flagship usually refers to the best IEM a company has to offer in their main lineup no?
Maybe they believe it’s their best one?

Price really has nothing to do with sound quality. In the end it’s all down to preference.
I know quite a few guys who prefer the Focal Clear over the Utopia. Also ones that prefer the DCA E3 over the Stealth.
I personally much prefer the HD600 over the HD800S.
I believe the Hifiman HE500 beats the Susvara hands down.
With regards to the iem world it’s the same thing. 7Hz makes a lot of more “expensive” iems than the Zero 2, but I still vastly prefer the latter.
Sennheiser’s IE600 easily beats the IE900. I’d much rather listen to the Kiwi Ears Cadenza than the Orchestra Lite…and so forth. With regards to Moondrop specifically, I think the Dusk is way better than the Solis ll.
This is all my personal preference though:)

Could also just be that the word ‘flagship’ has lost it’s actual meaning, and that companies are throwing it around in order to garner more sales.

Knowing the Chinese IEM scene, it's most likely just a term being thrown around instead of what it's supposed to mean. There are preferences, which I understand, but there is no way Moondrop considers their Kato 2.0 objectively better than everything else they offer.

Sennheiser HD600 > HD800S. Thx for the endorsement. HD600 are on my must buy list. Bought IEMs all year. HD600 is next.
