Oh wow, the Kanas Pro, man.. They're.. Wow.

I can't say they're "better" than Starfield but I can say I prefer them by far. A comfy and relaxed sound without being loose.

I can't imagine why they were ever discontinued. (I bought them used at $70, I don't know if that's a fair price, others seem to sell it at >$100. Maybe it was outpriced by the Kxxs?)

Moondrop seems to be having a new modular cable thingy, which can incorporate 2.5 mm, 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm adapters, called the PCC:

$59.90

It looks really cheap, sorry to say. And overpriced for what you get.
Non-functional chin slider like the one found in Faaeal cables, those horrible 2-pin connectors from Moondrop stock cables, and both the modular socket and the replaceable plugs look like they're made of plastic. The wire itself looks like the one you get with IMR products - very unaesthetic.

I'd rather buy three Faaeal cables with different jacks to cover all options.

Still rockin my KPE too! No issues with them. Though, I have installed custom nozzle tips with custom filters and using port-hole mods.
It has been only IEM that stopped me hoarding IEMs. Though, still wish to get ThieAudio Legacy 3 with custom faceplates (TOOL/Alex Grey painting images)... but maaan, 200$ for that when my KPE still manages make me smile? Hmmm...

Me 3, on occasions as I mainly go to full-sized now. There's been a lot of badly tuned or not all that technical iems that are way over-priced than KPE. So, KPE is a performance benchmark like HD650/6XX/600 IMO.

Speaking of full-sized, when is Moondrop releasing theirs? I saw the images, and doesn't look like a final product yet.

Hi guys. This brand Moondrop caught my eye when I was researching IEMs.

i haven’t done muchaudio lately and basically since 2013 I have neglected it but after seeing my old IE8s and iBasso D10 in the corner of a drawer I decided to give a listen again.

I’m considering Moondrops now — anyone here upgraded from IE8s? The blessing 2 looks really interesting. My main favorites of the IE8 were the warm, engaging punchy bass, the soundstage and the clarity up high. I hear the Blessing has better separation which is an added bonus for me.

also — for those that hve the moondrop, any daprecommendations? Or perhaps usb dac recommendations for listening out of my laptop. A friend has recommended me the FiiO Q3 but I havent researched source gear much yet.
Thank you!!

Hi all, I'm going to try Moondrop Starfield, they should arrive on Monday. I recently got a Kz BA10, that I found to fit my taste for its tight bass, but I'm not completely convinced by upper mids and treble.
I come from Hifiman re600, too midcentric and bass light, and Soundmagic e80, that I like very much.
Hope Starfield will be even better, it will be paired with a Cowon PM2.

The Blessing 2 has a VERY different sound profile to the IE8. It will be quite a transition for you. I'd consider looking at the Blessing 2 Dusk. It has more warmth/bass and is a touch more relaxed in the highs than the Blessing 2.

I prefer the Star field over the E80C.
Better tonality and more technical potent.
I think that you are going to like it.

I love the Starfields. They get a lot of things right to my ears. Just a word of caution: Out of the box, they have a 4k peak that can be a little peaky at least to my ears. This does calm down after 20 hours or so of burn in. I just EQ'd down the 4K peak by 2-4dB, and then once I noticed was losing some reach there, I EQ'd it back to normal after so many hours of burning in. Treble is smooth on the Starfields, bass is pretty fantastic imo--can be a hair loose, but at this price point, its as good as it gets imo. Separation is great for the price, soundstage is average.

Honestly, I hope Moondrop's next Starfield is basically the same formula but shoved into a shell the size of the Illumination. This should give it more space yet hopefully retain the Starfield sound.
