.... oops]
Vocals? If so not surprising that vocals are enjoyed with Moondrop iems. Their turning is upper-mids takes the show with a smooth sounding response. Doesn't get peaky or anything. Could be too smooth for some those, for those like more shimmer.

Their lower-end stuff like Spaceship has more of a sharper sounding upper frequencies, which may come off not so pleasant on initial listen.

My edited comment was suooosed to be in a pm. There was a track I just listened to where the LX bass was really epic but the BA of the S8 just can’t match it, not surprisingly.

Yeah, LX has so much slam if that's what desired. The bass can stand out too much though, but quite fun and technically a great bass driver. I didn't find the high frequencies all that great, had the BA timbre.

Having had the LX I wish I could afford to have a collection and have the LX for the few albums I listen to where the bass is so nice. Most of my music doesnt factor into this though so having the LX as an all’rounder isn’t ideal.

I bought mine on Amazon, and contact through Amazon and got a replacement for a unit a driver got messed up. Took awhile to arrive from China.

You can't try another cable or try the possible faulty cable on other iems?

Yes, I found another cable, it is the right IEM it seems. It is much quieter than the other, although not silent as I originally thought. Grrr, I love these damn things, but think I'm outside the warranty window.

Interested to hear more impression of S8. I was very close to pulling the trigger but opted for the new Fearless S8Z instead. My main concern with the S8 was being possibly bass light and having too hot upper-mids for me.

Also could be interested it temp swap with any S8 owners once I get the S8Z in a couple weeks.

I also heard the Valkyrie as well, and I prefer it over the LX. Valkyrie only has 3 drivers, but uses both Electret and the weapon-X or whatever dynamic bass driver. I bet those two pretty much covers big driver counts. Valkyrie, the upper frequencies stands out more, so likely a tasteful V-shape.

What I noticed with both is that, they both bass slam so hard that everything sounds bass lite after. That is somewhat of a caveat if you use other headphones.

Got a hold of Moondrop via their facebook site, they were friendly and helpful. Only problem, I need to send in my KPE, have them repaired, and then sent back from China. I may be without them for months :frowning2:.

Decided to use my other iems today instead and it is showing me how amazing Is the clarity of the S8. I’m listening to a podcast and it’s like the speaker is talking through a pillow. There a thickness to the tone that kinda seems muffled after the S8. When the other’s sound was “normal” the switch to the S8 was a bit jarring but now that the S8 is more or less “normal”, I can’t get over how different my sense of normal has changed. A true testament to the power of “brain burn in”. That’s the problem too with quick judgements.
