Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread

It's not that there's more "micro-detail" but they seem to be more coherent and, well, refined... which seems to be the only word I can think of at the moment.

that is the way I would describe the S8. I am impressed with how much clarity as a track fades. Not sure if the S8 would fit everyone's sonic requirements, although for me... Calyx M>Electro Acousti cable>S8 is one of the best ways I can get audio into my ears

Ooh.. I bet that Calyx M would be a great match. The WM1A is pretty neutral and the Eros II 8 wire is similarly tuned. I think an all copper cable would benefit my set up. I agree that it’s a tuning that won’t suit everyone.

I have a WM-1A also and even SE I am happy with the S8 as a pairing, but there is something about the Calyx M with the S8 that surpasses most all of what I own. I don't know if it is the ability to select the impedance setting (I have it on middle setting 16-24 ohm, 7-16 ohm is a bit muted) or the Class A power or an all of the above answer, but the synergy with this combo is spot on for me.

An image from my Moondrop dealer in HK for my custom S8's! He's gonna ship them to me soon so I'll be getting them right as I finish a big assignment. The wait is killing me! Pictures coming in a couple days :)

It’s been an adjustment coming from the EE Legend X but with the S8 the WM1A and Eros II cable I’m starting to not miss them as much.

Has anyone had any luck with warranty for their Massdrop KPE? Mine just turned 7 months old and the right IEM stopped working completely, not just muted, no sound at all. It might be the cable, so I need to get another .78 2-pin to test, but I want to get it resolved as early as possible just in case.

Snowed in today so I’m lounging listening to Rolf Lislevand on the S8/WM1A and I’m pretty amazed how clear and lifelike this music is. There was a shuffling sound that I thought was out In the real world but it was in the recording. I sold my LX last Friday and I am having trouble remembering what I could really want more. With this kind of music, the big bass isn’t an issue and tonally these S8’s sound great.
Maybe they just needed the 57.6 hours of burn in....ha,ha. Just kidding around..

I bought mine on Amazon, and contact through Amazon and got a replacement for a unit a driver got messed up. Took awhile to arrive from China.

You can't try another cable or try the possible faulty cable on other iems?
