Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread

Oh, I didn't see this thread before! When I was searching about KPE, I do remember seeing this post which talked about a new DD from MoonDrop:
What's more, they are also working on(near finish) another dynamic driver in-ear called Stella. The price will be about $380.

So I'm kinda intrigued whether this "Stella" changed the name to Amadeus or it's a side project.

Btw been 3 weeks with KPE and from the start, I got mixed feelings about it until I figured out the problem was the stock cable that came wired out the phase (I got $8 refund for this) so I've been using a cheap 2pins cable now but at least the sound is so damn good now. I can say I love almost everything about KPE, my minor complaint would be the mid-bass. It's highly depending on the mix this "issue" but sometimes I miss punch/aggressiveness listening to certain tracks' drums, it's like too calm when it should be aggressive. But again, it happens only with certain songs, otherwise it's awesome.

Andromeda vs Kanas Pro?
Would love to hear impressions.

That was the post which brought my attention to KPE. It's a good write up to know more about its sound signature.

Recommended for:
- Fans of the Sony MH1 that need an upgrade: The KPE will give you a more accurate tonality and a much improved resolution.
- Maybe for fans of the CA Andromeda. Not the stock 0 ohms version, but if you like the Andros at 3 ohms OI, the KPE could be the dynamic version of that.

I'm not sure how CA Andromeda sounds at 3 Ohm OI though.

wonder why this thread so quiet xD
okay i've tried all Moondrop Lineup (used to own some of them, currently only has Moondrop Blessing with Lyre Accoustics Violet) except their flagship A8 and Liebesleid Japan Edition (earbud)

i'll try to give short impression based on my memories, basically all Moondrop lineup focus on Clarity, Female Vocal, wide soundstage, neutral soundsig and amazing treble extension, obviously with light bass as downside

Moondrop IX
30711856_10208592260522949_6084160953941753856_n.jpg
Impression: Midcentric with sweet vocal, probably the best IEM for vocal at that price range (before crescent or Aria come out), intimate soundstage, there is treble and bass roll-off. Solid Build Quality, Quite heavy

Moondrop Nocturne
30743579_10208592260122939_6014874219400134656_n.jpg
Impression: Moondrop trying to imitate ER4XR, use the same Knowles ED-29689 (CMIIW), the one which sound weird but good, Airy with Good clarity, there is treble roll-off, thin mid-bass, quite big sub bass (considered because thin mid-bass), wide soundstage but lack of depth, thin sounding overall, IMO the worst IEM from Moondrop, just okay at their price range. Solid build quality

Moondrop A4
30725300_10208592259802931_342003843439001600_o.jpg
Impression: Ex-Flagship with 4BA, great resolution, light bass but goes pretty deep, more balanced version than Blessing, So-so build quality... too bad it's discontinued, it has potential to be the best value IEM at the price (around $320)

Moondrop Kanas
30742906_10208592259522924_4319807217881579520_n.jpg
Impression: The warmest Moondrop Lineup, it has the biggest bass quantity, quite aggresive upper mid, i like Kanas using Lyre Accoustics - Reference cable (the one with Kanas Pro Edition)

The left one is NS Audio "Dream Bridge" NS5 which is another best value, but won't talk about it here

Moondrop Kanas Pro Edition
34636663_10208842821586819_1773822700133810176_o.jpg
Impression: leaner version of Kanas with better clarity, more treble extension with less bass quantity, Best Value from Moondrop lineup IMO (Till Moondrop Aria comeout from nowhere) but i prefer Kanas with Kanas Pro Cable

Moondrop Crescent
47089094_10209762135329088_350251370353262592_n.jpg
Impression: This one kills!! absolutely best budget IEM if you like light bass IEM, neutral, good for female vocal, wide soundstage with okay-ish depth (which is good at that price range)

Moondrop Aria
47379739_10209762134849076_7666981192792539136_n.jpg
Impression: Mini Blessing, it does everything like Blessing in lower resolution and extention

Moondrop Blessing
45576426_10209640637051707_3193590295207870464_n.jpg
Impression: Good All-rounder, i bought mine with Lyre Accoustics Violet cable, there is Crinacle review which is great to describe this one

i'll continue later when i have some free time....

I'm tempted to get regular Kanas to compare with Pros. If the tuning has the aggressiveness/punch at mid-bass which sometimes I'm missing on my Pros it would be my winner.

btw, has anyone tried JVC FD01 and can compare it with KPE?
