Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread

Got the Starfield. Fit is so so, and for me it becomes tiring after 30 minutes (compared to shure IEMs). Sound is good for classical music, some vocal, but I too find it too bright and thin (sometimes splashy?) to be used as all rounder. I would prefer a few db more bass and a bit more polite top end.

I like AKG K371 - which is supposed to follow harman target. To my ears - Starfield (which is also suppose to follow harman curve) sounds much thinner and brighter.

Would appreciate any suggestion for XL tips - as an upgrade over stock. I don’t like foam and prefer silicone. Would consider foam if they tip signature to warm side significally.
The Starfield targets what Moondrop call the virtual diffuse sound field (VDSF), it's their take on the diffuse-field neutral curve, with a slant towards Harman neutral (so they tame the highs and add more warmth and bass).

Here's a good review that covers this for you: https://theheadphonelist.com/moondrop-starfield-review-harbinger/

Thanks for reply. I guess I will sell Starfield. Not just because of the sound, but the fit is also not very good for me. I would appreciate any suggestion for warmer sounding IEM.

iBasso IT00, I call it the dolled-up, more exciting version of the Starlight. Warmer, more bassy, and more fun in general.

Yep I agree with others...iBasso it00 is similar family sound to the Moondrop Starfield, but with a bit more of everything especially bass, although perhaps you need a smaller shell if the Starfield has a poor fit.

I would definitely try flipped tips before selling the Starfield, because it definitely has a warm, smooth sound with great clarity.

$1 and a few minutes work.

I'm posted on the wrong thread, so here I'm posting again. Seems like a Flash deal is going on at Hifigo. Does the price seems good for Blessing 2. Here's the Link
This is a good price.
They normally sell for $320 (Steel) and $350 (wood and Waifu) on Aliexpress

I canceled my order yesterday because the price of the Blessing 2 has fallen by 80€.
If you add the reduced import tax to Germany (due to the lower price), they are 40% cheaper then a week before.

I will not order them again as long as they are not in stock in the EU.
The long shipping and difficulties with a potential exchange are super annoying.

230€ now

Yes, I would rather have smaller. I was thinking about etymotic, but I dont think I will like them.
Not sure the Etymotic will be anything like the Starfield. If you could get the fit right and the cable right the Blon 03 is very analogue in sound. The Starfield is quite 'analogue' to me, so brighter IEMs may not suit you, or you may have to get used to them. If you want to go for a single BA that are worn down, the NiceHCK dt100, with the right tips, are a big surprise.

Illumination looks intriguing. I was hoping (or expecting) for beryllium DD. Could LCP diaphragm be worth the cost?
Probably not. :unamused:

Ikko is also selling a dd flagship for just under a grand, so it is looking like a trend with certain OEMs. Starfield is treating my ears well at this point in time, but if I end up getting a cash windfall...
The ikkos look beautiful but measure like the oh1, and the moondrop flagship measures similar to their other earphones as well.. Seems like you’re just paying more for the jewelry appearance.
