That's a good suggestion. I always listen people who already heard both and can tell similarities and differences. I am not wanting to collect the same sounding iems as much as i like kanas pro and heard good things about starfield. But perhaps have to go upside. Blessing 2 i ques should be real upgrade from kanas ?

If you can stretch your budget from starfield to Blessing 2 ( that 3 times of the starfield price) they definitely will be an upgrade to your Kanas Pro, at least on technicalities they will be better.

Because I had to send my Kanas Pro all the way back to China to be repaired, I decided to get some replacements for the interim. I picked up some Etymotic ER2XR (was done with chi-fi due to warranty issues) and they are pretty similar to the KPE. Even though I got the XR, they are more neutral overall, less sub-bass and no 16k treble spike. Great imaging on them, perhaps better than the KPE, but smaller overall soundstage. Although still nice and wide (which surprised me due to the tiny bore size). Excited to have another pair of IEM which are not fatiguing and great for classic rock, indie, etc. Oh, and a much better warranty than most chi-fi will get you.

My kanas pro has been dusting up ever since i had my hands on the er2xr. It's just so much better in every way except the soundstage and the lack of some lower and upper treble emphasis (which i can live with), but still ended up resolving better with even more detail. Not to mention, my dislike towards the harman target only grew and the overly emphasized 3-4k area (for the kpe) makes certain vocal tracks sound strangely intense. Oh and i got along with the ety deep fit instantly.
Just my 2 cents.

Glad to know I'm not the only one!

At last.
The wait is over.
That huge brick of 100% pure cocaine and my blessing 2, that I ordered on 16.01. are finally arrived from SHENZHENAUDIO.

Oh, wait, that block is just empty iem's packaging...No yayo to be found anywhere, but layers over layers of bubblewrap.
Thanks to that packaging, the box arrived in a nearly perfect condition :)

Since i didn't find any photos of actual Blessing2 packaging online, i made some for you:
003-unbox.jpg
Inside are:
- faux Leather case with IEM
- small black box with 2 plastic bags with:
*12 Eartips (2 pairs of Large, 2 pairs of Medium, 2 pairs of Small. Guess they included the double amount of each size in the case you lose a pair).
*4core Cable (very thin one with no chin slider and rather cheap looking plastic L-shaped 3.5 jack. I guess it could have been worse)
*weird looking audio adapter (didn't read the manual yet, maybe there's an info on w.t.h this thing is)
- a few cards (manual & etc.). One card with maybe serial number? If so, mine pair is N°5 :p

I also made a few, NSFW iem-porn-pics showing all the holes, so keep that finger on the bosskey at all times:
iem_porn1.jpgiem_porn2a.jpg

One gorgeously curvy resin and steel beauty, ain't she? :)

Looks like it's a solid resin piece with the only hollow part being behind the steel plate for driver breathing.
The fit is great, i feel no discomfort at all (I'm using included medium-sized eartips).

Blessing 2 is tuned to "VDSF" target curve, which is Moondrop's own take on Harman target i guess.
All i can say about sound for now, is that they sound petty great out the box.
The only thing that I somewhat miss, is a small sparkle bump on 7-8k high freqs, which makes quite a big difference on electronic tracks like this one:

Buts it's easily fixable with EQ, which I find Blessing 2 responds quite well to.
Otherwise i really like the tuning. Moondrop/Herbert Zheng made themselves another winner.
Blessing2 is definitely to stay in my collection

(if you're wondering what's those stackable boxes are, they are from LTO7-Tapes)

Prolly gonna get ISN H40 and I3 next, once the China is back from it's vacation.
Hopefully there wont be any delays because of the virus outbreak...

Great pictures bro, any chance you have the kxxs and can compare it? Pretty interested in the Blessing 2 as well but have no idea about the sound.

Funny, I got rid of my ER2XR because the KPE seemed so close that I didn't need it.
When I got the KPE, and listened to the ER4XR, it just sounded thin. Come'on. it's 1BA. It's not comparable to a 10mm DLC. It's got that BA timbre.

I found the ER2SE pretty avg sounding with thin Etymotic sounds. It hardly moves any air with it's tiny dynamic driver. It's not comparable to Moondrop drivers. Imaging was the typical boring, small, ordinary Etymotic presentation. I had no urge to get one. There's nothing highly technical about Etymotic iems. Tonality is fine though.

Although Etymotic are quite efficient, Moondrop 10mm carbon drivers perform well with strong amp drive.

Nope sorry mate, don't have the kxxs. Besides, i'm really crappy at describing sonics ^^'
Guessing that you miss the bass on the tape with the blessing 2 lol. At least if it is similar to the kxxs, is it tight and fast?

Got the Starfield yesterday, haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but I did take measurements:
Starfield.jpg
No surprises here. As always, my measurements were conducted with a Dayton iMM-6 microphone using a vinyl tubing coupler and a calibrated USB sound interface. The headphones are driven using my Element, which has an output impedance of no more than 1 ohm. The measurements use a compensation file derived from relating my raw measurements to published measurements from Crinacle and Antdroid. The measurements are presented with 1/24th smoothing. The magnitude of the valley around 7k is a coupler artifact. There is a resonant peak around 8k. Measurements above 10k are not reliable.

I thought at first that i did, but now I think that Blessing2's bass is just right. Subbass is especially amazing. I quite like the overall tuning.
Is it as tight/fast as the tape?
