WAY. Too. Bling.

To me anyway. Then again, I got the SE530 which is as shiny so maybe I shouldn't talk.

But the supposed improvements in sound sounds good.

"but apparently it's still a single dynamic driver..." - Gizmodo.

Apparently they don't think like that anymore.

Panasonic had already made dual drives earbuds over ten years ago, so making dynamic multi-drives IEM is not a problem at all.

I heard the Turbine Pros at Canjam..they were a huge step above the Turbine which I think is clobbered by the Maximo iMetal- 590 which sells for 60$. I had the Maximo, turbine and turbine pros all at the same time to listen to and the Maximo 590 was sounding as good if not slightly better than the Turbine Pros. The turbine pros are slated to release at 300$ MSRP ...At least there is something 'Monster' about them..the price!!

So you put the Maximo 590, quite above the Turbine ?
I find funny that in an other thread someone said exactly the contrary.

In performance it is above the likes of the PL30's/ J2's/ CX300's and below the $100 plus phones like the Phonaks/ Turbines/ IE7's etc.

In this thread

Conclusion: it's hard to make any choice by just reading this forum

quite possible..and sure trust your own ears..whether they are for headphones, IEMs or speakers.

however I must point out , I was sitting with the designer of the turbine and the turbine pros in the LAX airport when I heard them all. To be honest, he was quite surprised by the performance of the Maximos.

You can read about my impressions here which I posted soon after I returned from Canjam.

Reading the preview... "Better balanced", so they tuned the driver for less bass and that's how the new Pro achieves it? Reminds me of the pair of defective Turbine I had first... way less bass, but slightly better mids and highs (tho now my new, working pair are burning in nicely). I wonder if Monster didn't slip any Pros into "regular" packaging to see how customers would like those

Monster came out with the Turbines not too long ago and now this! I seriously wonder how much better they sound and if the $100 difference is justified. Is Monster going to give out free Turbine Pros to headfiers as they did with the regular Turbines? I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a free set and compare them with my regulars. If not, I will wait for headfiers who already have the regulars to make an extensive comparison between the two only after some serious burn in. Hey Monster, my ears can be your guinea pig!

Lol, I wonder if they've changed the design of the turbines since. If the Maximos really do sound as good as you say, then they'll be on my next to-buy list. Getting turbine quality bass at 60$ is quite a feat.

Anyone think the release of the PRO's will bring down the price of the normal turbines?

They sure do look pretty
ksc75smile.gif
, but that price is out of my league. Maybe they will have some sort of contest or something
smily_headphones1.gif
. They would have to be on a new level to justify the cost increase though.
